Family Programs

The Museo Larco offers programs specially designed for families with children aged from 3 to 12 years. These programs are presented by young educators fully trained as museum guides. Through interactive activities, challenges and games, all members of the family can explore the museum’s collection and discover fascinating stories from ancient Peru.
Gods of Ancient Peru

Travel through time and learn about the most powerful gods of pre-Columbian Peru and their importance in the lives of ancient Peruvians.

For Families with children aged 3 to 12 years
Duration 1 hour and 15 minutes
Activities Exploration of objects, recreation of the Sacrifice Scene, and the making of headdresses with animal features.

Fruits of Ancient Peru

Today in Peru we enjoy delicious natural products that were domesticated thousands of years ago by ancient Peruvians. Which is your favorite? Explore the Museo Larco visible storage and find it!

Activities Games, exploration of objects, storytelling and a collage of favorite products.

The Journeys of Ai Apaec

Learn about Ai Apaec, the mythical Mochica hero, who fought different creatures from the ocean and the world of darkness, in defense of the harmony of nature’s cycles.

For Families with children aged 7 to 12 years
Duration 1 hour and 15 minutes
Activities Treasure hunt, exploration of objects, recreation of battle scenes and making your own comic strip.

Admission and Bookings

Cost

1 to 5 people S/ 100.00 per group
Group of 6 to 10 members S/ 20.00 per person
This payment is made in addition to the entrance tickets. For Family Programs, children should pay the tour from 3 years old.

Each museum educator can only attend a maximum of 10 visitors. Larger groups will need to be divided into smaller groups.

For inquiries or bookings, contact the museum’s education department by sending an e-mail to reservas@museolarco.org, or call +51 1 461-1312, extension 215.

Booking e-mails must include date, time and name of the guided tour selected (and in the case of family tours, the ages of the children).

Any modification to the scheduled time must be requested at least 24 hours in advance, and will be subject to the availability of the museum’s educators.

The museum will wait 15 minutes for late arrivals. After this time, the museum will be under no obligation to provide the service.

The Museo Larco has designed thematic interactive educational programs for students at all levels: kindergarten, elementary and secondary. All bookings must be made in advance.
