Plan your Visit
The Museo Larco is housed in an 18th century viceroyalty mansion.
Surrounded by beautiful gardens, the Museo Larco permanent exhibition invites visitors to explore the more than 5000 year history of ancient Peru, through a fascinating collection of pre-Columbian art.

The ticket includes the entrance to the Permanent Exhibition, Visible Storage, and our renovated “Checan” Erotic Gallery. You can also enjoy the landscaping in the open-air spaces of the museum.

Opening Hours & Admission

OPENING HOURS:

We are open daily, including holidays.
– Monday to Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
– Fridays and Saturdays until December 2024: extended hours until 10:00 p.m.
– Reduced hours: December 24, 25, 26 and January 1 from 10:00 am to 6:00 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased in advance (currently only in Spanish) or at the museum.

**Night rate valid on Fridays and Saturdays until December 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
***The Museum accepts Visa, American Express, Mastercard and Diners credit or debit cards, and cash payments in Peruvian Soles or US Dollars.

Parking
Visitors can park outside the museum, on Calle Navarra and Avenida Bolívar.



Bus
We are about one hour from the airport and 45 minutes from Miraflores.

From the airport (Callao):
At the airport bus stop, on Avenida Faucett, take the CR-19 bus in the direction of Surco or the IO-89 bus in the direction of Chorrillos. Get off at the bus stop on the corner of Avenida Cipriano Dulanto (La Mar) and Avenida Juan Valer Sandoval (Cueva). Walk 550 meters north along Avenida Juan Valer Sandoval as far as Avenida Bolívar. Turn right and walk one block east along Avenida Bolívar as far as Calle Navarra and turn right.

From Parque Kennedy (Miraflores):
At the bus stop on the corner of Avenida Pardo and Calle Atahualpa, take the IO-89 bus in the direction of Los Olivos. Get off at the bus stop on the corner of Avenida Cipriano Dulanto (La Mar) and Avenida Juan Valer Sandoval (Cueva). Walk 550 meters north along Avenida Juan Valer Sandoval as far as Avenida Bolívar. Turn right and walk one block east along Avenida Bolívar as far as Calle Navarra and turn right.

Baggage and coat check
A baggage and coat check service is available free of charge in the museum’s reception area. Visitors can leave bags, backpacks and suitcases. Please refer to our Bag Size Policy.

Wi-Fi
A free Wi-Fi connection is available in the exhibition rooms, visible storage, gardens and the museum’s coffee shop.

Languages
The Permanent Exhibition and Erotic Room exhibits are translated into seven languages: Spanish, English, French, Italian, German, Japanese and Portuguese.

Restrooms
Restrooms are located on the ground floor, near the Museo Larco Café-Restaurant, and the second level, in the exhibition area. On both levels there are restrooms designed to be accessible for persons with disabilities, and equipped with baby changing facilities.

Payphone
Payphones are available on the ground floor, next to the restrooms.

Parking
Visitors can park outside the museum, on Calle Navarra and Avenida Bolívar.

Museo Larco Café-Restaurant
The museum restaurant invites visitors to enjoy the finest Peruvian and international cuisine in a charming and welcoming atmosphere. It offers cold and hot dishes, salads, sandwiches, cakes and desserts, as well as hot and cold drinks. The restaurant is situated on the museum’s terraces, with a view of the beautiful and colorful gardens.

Museo Larco Store-Boutique
The museum store is a pleasant space where visitors can find souvenirs, books, jewelry, textiles and replicas inspired by the masterworks displayed in the collection.


Accessibility

  • Ramps enable easy access for all to the museum’s exhibition rooms and gardens.
  • Guide dog access to the museum is permitted.
  • Wheelchairs are available free of charge on the ground floor.
  • Restrooms are accessible for persons with disabilities.
  • Baby changing facilities are available in the restrooms.

Photography


Amateur photography is permitted throughout the museum. Flash photography is not permitted in the exhibition rooms.


Tripods and selfie sticks must not be used in the museum’s exhibition rooms and gardens.

Professional photography and filming
Such activities are permitted subject to prior authorization. Requests should be sent to [email protected], at least three working days before the planned visit.
Amateur or professional photo sessions are not permitted.

Recommendations

  • Travel light: The climatic conditions of Lima mean that heavy coats and umbrellas are not necessary.
  • Keep your entry sticker in a visible place throughout your visit.
  • No visitors may enter the exhibition rooms with suitcases, backpacks, bags or musical instruments. These items must be left in the baggage check facilities.
  • No food or drink is allowed within the exhibition rooms.
  • To ensure their continued conservation, please do not touch the objects on display.
  • Only pencils are allowed in the exhibition rooms for drawing or taking notes.
  • Photography for personal use is permitted; however, flash photography, tripods and selfie sticks are not permitted.
  • Amateur or professional photo sessions are not permitted.
  • Baby strollers (“pushchairs”) are permitted in the exhibition rooms, but not in the visible storage.
  • Please do not raise your voice.
  • Mobile phones must be set to vibrator or silent mode.
  • Please do not block visitor access in passageways and entrances.
